Our June newsletter winner was Jo Ann! She’ll get the book of her choice, plus that adorable little stuffed leopard/cheetah cub, celebrating this week’s release of Vampire Instinct! (I can’t decide which breed it is, so we’re going to let Jo Ann decide if it’s a cheetah or leopard – grin). Hope you all have your copies of Mal and Elisa’s story and are enjoying their journey.
Don’t forget the last segment (I think!) of Daegan and Gideon will be posted this week, hopefully Friday, but definitely no later than Saturday. That will be on this blog and the JWH fan forum. Hope my U.S. readers had a wonderful 4th holiday weekend, and that everyone I enjoying their week!
Please not the last Round! I love Deagan and Gideon so much. You really should write another book about them!
Not meaning to whine, and I know it has to end soon and you have a lot on your plate right now, but please, pretty please, pretty, pretty please could we maybe have this segment of D&G and then one last one after that?
I know that whatever the Muse and you work out will be great but I just hate to see this vignette end (but as you know, I do love D&G).
Congrats to Jo Ann. I’m grumpy today because there are only 2 bookstores within 20 miles of me and neither have Vampire Instinct in stock. I called and search yesterday and everyone wanted to order it. I want it in my hand
. Now I’m on an 11 minute hold to check one last B and N near my job.
Reese
Mary Kay, I know there are enough loose ends/questions floating around about those three to form another book, so I definitely wouldn’t be averse to doing that down the road (wink). And Pat, we’ll see – I’m working on the full ending right now, which is long enough to be two segments, so I may break them into two, but give them to you on the same day, so I can focus on the contracted projects going forward (grin). We’ll see if I can get them completed/polished up in time to do that this week! I love these two as well, so I understand the not-wanting-to-let-go feeling very well. :>
Reese, I hate to hear that!! Hope you’re able to get your hands on it soon. If you have an ereader, I know you can download it to your Kindle, Sony, Ipad (whatever your digital device choice – grin) right away, and for a couple dollars less than the print book in a lot of cases, so that may be an alternative choice. But I’m delighted to hear you’re planting a bug in the bookstores’ ears about keeping my books in stock! lol
Actually if you have a pc or laptop, you can download free softeware from either Amazon or B&N that allow you to buy and load digital books to your pc or laptop (and, at least with B&N, if you get an ereader down the road, they automatically roll onto that as well – so I have all my ebooks on both my pc and my ereader – grin).
Congrats Jo Ann..
I got excited for a min. until I checked emails…LOL
Joey.. Thank you so much for the Daegan & Gideon story. Love getting extra on those two : )
Reese, hope you find one close.. I’m waiting for mine to be delivered from B&N .. suppose to be within 3 days but it never is…they’re Slow.
Pat, thanks for adding that – I always forget about the free software so you can read on your PC!
Iokijo, oops – sorry about that – didn’t mean to get your hopes up, but promise you’ll have a chance to win again next month! And you’re welcome about D&G. I’m going to be a little delayed this week – will probably have it posted Saturday or Sunday instead of Friday, but I may be posting two segments simultaneously, so that may make up for it! :> Hope you’ll receive VI soon…
Just a quick note to tell you, Joey, that Vampire Instinct made me cry!
I finished VAMPIRE INSTINCT yesterday.
Joey you evil, evil woman!! You reduced me to tears in back-to-back Vampire Queen books. They packed a punch.
Sue/Terri, I hope the tears are a good thing? (grin) Seriously, it made me cry, too! But I loved writing their story. Mal and Elisa had such a wonderful chemistry, and it was just a very different tone from the other books, particularly with him being a much younger vampire and her being a maid, versus something flashier. And she was so strong, in an unexpected, subtle way. Sigh – in short, I’m glad you guys share the love for them!
If an author can get me to love her characters so much that I cry, she has done a damn good job!! You always do a damn good job.
Terri, you flatter me – thank you!
This is for Reese, I know this is a little late but it will be helpful in the future. If you keep checking the bn.com website it sometimes releases Joey’s books early and when they do u can order it and it will make it to ur house in three business days. I do that to all of her books because they never carry a lot of them in my bn stores and by the time I get there they are all gone. Now I am happier bc I can order it earlier and get it before the people in the store. And when it does come in its like christmas all over.
To Joey, It was so easy for me to fall in love with Mal and Elisa. They are my next favorite couple next to Jess and Mason. I so loved the book that I had to read it twice and then I read Mason and Jess’s story to see what couple I liked the most and couldn’t come up with an answer. I hope we get to see more of Elisa and Mal in the future and have an update on the young vampires.
thanks all. I actaully went along with the suggestion to download from b and n with their online version nook e reader. It was awesome and right on time since we left for vacation on sunday and just got back today. I was able to get my Joey fix. Now I’m off to read the vignette
reese
p.s. the bookstore on vacation had a nice shiny copy on the shelves.argh. I’m going to buy a papercopy later. I like Joey’s books in my hand so I can go back and savor whenever I glance at a shelf and see them
Reese I know exactly how u feel, Joey’s books will always have 2 be bought in papercopy for me, there’s nothing like reading on ur bed with her book in ur hand! The nook is good for all other books lol!
Maria, you’re the second reader who has told me that Mal/Elisa have come close to their love for Mason/Jess, and I was delighted to hear that, knowing your liking for Beloved Vampire! I’m sure we’ll get an update on Mal and Elisa going forward – they’re the type of characters that tend to make “guest appearances” in future books.
Reese, I’m glad you were able to get your fix, and thanks, Maria, for that additional good advice! I tend to use both versions – I will read digital, but when I really fall in love with a book, I get the paper copy for my shelf (grin). Hope you had a good vacation!
I have to admit that I pre-ordered both the paperback and Nook editions of Vampire Instinct.
I love my Nook because I can carry hundreds of books with me, but there are times when holding the actual book is best.
Terri, I have no problem with that admission – I appreciate it! (grin)
